Trump told Putin "crazy", raised questions on Jailonsky too

Washington, 26 May (IANS). US President Donald Trump on Monday criticized Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodimir Jailonsky. He claimed that if he had been in office at that time, the war between the two countries would never have been sparked.

Trump’s remarks came after Russia’s major air strike. Many Ukraine civilians died in this attack, including children.

On his social media platform Truth social, Trump called Putin “crazy”. However, he said that he had good relations with Putin at one time.

Trump wrote, “There have always been a very good relationship between me and Vladimir Putin, but something has happened to them. He is completely mad. He is unnecessarily killing many people and I am not just talking about soldiers. Missiles and drones are being fired in Ukraine cities without any reason.”

He further said, “I have always said that they want a full part of Ukraine. It is not just a piece of it and perhaps it is proving right, but if they do so, it will collapse Russia.”

Trump also questioned the Ukrainian President Jailnsky. Jailonsky recently said that “America’s silence” has encouraged Putin further.

Trump criticized Jailonski’s rhetoric, saying, “Jailonski is not doing good to his country. Everything that comes out of his mouth creates problems. I do not like it and stop it. If I had been a President, this war would never start.”

The US President remained silent on Russia’s air strike till Sunday evening, when he commented on the matter while talking to reporters.

Regarding Putin, Trump said, “He is killing a lot of people. I don’t know what is wrong with him. What happened to him? He is killing a lot of people. I am not happy with it.”

Trump tried to overcome himself from the struggle. He reiterated that Jailonsky, Putin and his predecessor President who Biden are responsible for this.

Trump said, “This is the war of Jailonsky, Putin and Biden, not ‘Trump’s.” I am only helping to extinguish those big and terrible fire, which have started due to extreme disability and hatred. “

Russia’s deadly attacks occurred when the two warning countries swap a large number of prisoners after the full scale invasion started in February 2022, in which around 1,000 prisoners were released from both sides.

Ukrainian officials have confirmed that a 17-year-old teenager, along with two children aged 8 and 12, died in recent attacks in recent attacks.

Trump also said that he was considering further banning Russia in view of the recent attack.

However, his stand seems to be different from the statement of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who told the Congress this week that Trump believes that threatening sanctions at this time may discourage Russia from negotiations.
