The Jammu and Kashmir unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday described the completion of Udhampur-Baramulla railway connectivity as a ‘historic moment’ and called the project a ‘precious gift of Eid’ for the people of the Union Territory.
BJP’s Jammu and Kashmir unit spokesperson Altaf Thakur said in Srinagar, “Udhampur-Baramulla railway contact is not just the achievement of engineering, but is a symbol of hope, development and national unity. This is really a historic moment for Jammu and Kashmir. ”
He said that the ambitious railway project will bring revolutionary changes about traveling in the area, this will promote tourism and open economic opportunities for remote areas. Thakur said, “This is another proof of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s unwavering commitment for the development and progress of Jammu and Kashmir.” Thakur described the project as one of the most important infrastructure achievements of recent times and said that it would benefit people from all classes, especially remote areas and economically weaker people.
He said, “Prime Minister Modi’s dream of connecting Kashmir with the rest of India through modern transport networks is becoming a reality.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated the world’s highest bridge over the Chenab river before dedicating the much awaited Kashmir Rail Service to the nation. After inaugurating the Chenab bridge, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated India’s first ‘Cable-Stad’ railway bridge on the Anji River.
