Moscow, Sep 1 (IANS) Russia has claimed that it has thwarted Ukrainian drone attacks in Podolsk and destroyed the UAV aircraft, Russian officials gave this information on Sunday.
Russian air defense forces foiled an attack on a drone flying towards Moscow. According to Russian officials, the Ukrainian drone had targeted Moscow and several other areas.
According to initial information, there were no damages or casualties at the site of the debris fall. Emergency services are on the move and specialists are working at the scene, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said in a Telegram post.
Later in separate posts, they said the air defense force shot down two drones flying toward Moscow. “The Kiev regime’s attempt to carry out a terrorist attack using UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) in the Bryansk region has been thwarted,” the region’s governor, Alexander Bogomaz, said in a Telegram post.
“The UAV was detected and destroyed by the Air Defence Forces of the Russian Defence Ministry. There was no damage. Emergency services teams are working at the scene,” he said.
According to Bogomaz, Russian Air Defense Forces detected and destroyed 12 unmanned aircraft within an hour. He later added that 12 other aircraft (like UAVs) were destroyed by air defense units.
Officials claimed that according to preliminary information, there were no casualties in any of the attacks.
