Coimbatore, January 23 (IANS). Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav on Thursday planted a sapling in the name of his mother under the ‘One Tree in Mother’s Name’ campaign. The Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change had arrived at the Central Institute of Forest Genetics and Arboriculture on Tadagam Road in Coimbatore to attend the meeting of the Parliamentary Consultative Committee.
Union Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Kirti Vardhan Singh and other members of the committee were also present in this meeting. During this he discussed various ideas and projects related to forest land conservation.
Let us tell you that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had started the ‘One Tree in the Name of Mother’ campaign on the occasion of ‘Environment Day’. Along with starting this campaign, he appealed to all the people for collective efforts to protect the environment.
At the same time, after this appeal of the Prime Minister, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had started the plantation program of 11 lakh trees in a day under the ‘One Tree in the Name of Mother’ campaign at the Border Security Force complex in Revati Range in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Under this campaign, Indore had made a world record of planting 11 lakh saplings in a day.
Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address, Amit Shah had said that Modi ji had appealed to the people of the country to join the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign’.
Shah had said that when Modi ji started this campaign, no one had any idea that one day this campaign would become such a big mass movement. Indore is known throughout the country for its cleanliness, taste, good governance, cooperation and participation. But, from now on, Indore will also be known across the country for the ‘One Tree, Mother’s Name’ tree plantation campaign.
