Begusarai, Aug 31 (IANS) BJP MP and Union Minister Giriraj Singh was attacked in Balia, Begusarai, Bihar on Saturday. A youth attacked him while he was leaving the hall after finishing the Janata Darbar.
Actually, Giriraj Singh had gone to listen to the problems of the people in the Janata Darbar in Balia, Begusarai. When he was leaving from there after the Janata Darbar, a young man attacked him. The police immediately took the attacker into custody and started investigating the case. After this incident, there was a stir in political circles.
Police and officials took Giriraj Singh under security cover and sent him on his onward journey. Giriraj Singh called the incident sad and said that after seeing the face of the accused, opposition leaders Tejashwi and Akhilesh may come out in his support. He said that he is not afraid of such people. Rahul Gandhi, Tejashwi and Akhilesh Yadav are vote traders and always come forward to save such people.
Sources said that Giriraj Singh was listening to the problems of the people in the Janta Darbar. Meanwhile, a young man wearing a white cap reached there and started talking nonsense to him. During this, BJP workers tried to stop him. After this, the young man tried to hit Giriraj Singh. But the security personnel caught him. The young man was identified as Mohammad Saifi. He is said to be a ward councilor.
