Mumbai, 26 April (IANS). Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Raksha Khadse attended an event organized by FICCI in Mumbai on Saturday.
The main objective of this program was to promote women empowerment and rural development. Minister Raksha Khadse expressed happiness over his first FICCI program and said that this platform is important for women’s progress and development of the country.
Talking to the media, he said that today he got an opportunity to attend a FICCI program in Mumbai for the first time. There was a special discussion on women empowerment and rural development in this program, which was very inspiring. All the people present here were talking about giving equal status to women and bringing them forward in business and startups. It is happy to see that the role of women for the development of the country is being given so much importance.
During the panel discussion in the program, it was revealed that if India is to be made a developed nation, then women will have to give equal opportunities in every field. Emphasis was also laid on the need to create special schemes and opportunities for women in rural areas. This is a perfect step, because women empowerment is necessary not only for social, but also for economic progress. Such events will definitely help in giving new directions to women.
On the Pahalgam attack, he said that the terrorist attack in Kashmir has shook the entire country. Tourists were targeted in this attack, which is being condemned all over the world including India. Kashmir is an integral part of India and after the removal of Article 370, a new wave of development has been seen there. Tourism in Kashmir has increased considerably in the last few years. The central government has implemented several schemes there, which have benefited the local people. The people of Kashmir should get full right to development.
He further said that the Government of India is thinking that Kashmir steps with the rest of the states and proceeded on the path of provision. The central government has implemented several schemes for the development of Kashmir, which are reaching the local people. But this terrorist attack has once again raised security questions. The Prime Minister and the Home Minister have assured action by taking a tough stand on the incident.
Raksha Khadse said that strict steps will be taken against terrorism. In this attack, there have been reports of some people asking about their religion, which is a matter of concern. Such incidents have to be taken seriously and everyone will have to unite and answer it. India has tightened its policy against terrorism. Negotiations on the water treaty with Pakistan have been stopped and Pakistani citizens have been given an ultimatum to leave India in 48 hours. This step reflects India’s strong policy against those who promote terrorism.
