UP By Election: Assembly by-elections are being held on nine seats of UP. All the parties are trying to defeat each other. The contest on these seats will be between BJP, SP and BSP. Karhal seat of UP has become the most high profile seat. From here, Akhilesh Yadav has fielded Lalu Prasad Yadav’s son-in-law and his nephew Tej Pratap. At the same time, BJP has made the contest here quite interesting by giving ticket to a relative of Saifai family. If seen in this way, CM Yogi has prepared a big plan to defeat SP President Akhilesh Yadav in his own stronghold by applying a master stroke.
Competition between uncle and nephew
Now there is a competition between uncle and nephew in Karhal. BJP has given ticket to Anujesh Pratap Singh Yadav from here. By-elections are being held on Karhal seat after the resignation of SP President Akhilesh Yadav. Karhal is considered the stronghold of Samajwadi Party. SP has dominated this seat since 1993. BJP won here only in 2002 when BJP’s Sobran Singh Yadav won. However, he later joined SP.
Mulayam Singh Yadav had given services here
Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav once served as a teacher in Jain Inter College here in Karhal. The distance of Karhal from Saifai, the ancestral village of Yadav family, is only four kilometers. Karhal seat is also part of the Mainpuri Lok Sabha constituency of Akhilesh Yadav’s wife Dimple Yadav.
Who is Anujesh Yadav whom Yogi has fielded in SP’s stronghold?
BJP candidate Anujesh Yadav is the husband of Sandhya Yadav, sister of Samajwadi Party MP Dharmendra Yadav from Azamgarh. That means Anujesh Yadav is the brother-in-law of Akhilesh Yadav and Dharmendra Yadav and the son-in-law of Mulayam Singh Yadav’s brother Abhayram Yadav. Anujesh is a resident of Bharaul village of Firozabad district. Whereas Tej Pratap Yadav is also a member of the Saifai family. Tej Pratap is the grandson of Mulayam Singh Yadav’s brother Ratan Singh and son of late Ranveer Singh Yadav. Tej Pratap has also been the block chief of Saifai block and Lok Sabha MP from Mainpuri. Tej Pratap is the son-in-law of RJD President Lalu Prasad Yadav. That is, it is clear here that in the by-election of Karhal, there will be a contest between uncle Anujesh and nephew Tej Pratap. Due to this, it is believed that now the contest between Saifai family and their relative on Karhal seat is going to be very interesting.
Considered to be a Yadav dominated area
The area of Karhal is considered to be a Yadav dominated area. This is the reason why this area is considered the stronghold of SP. In the 2022 UP Assembly elections, BJP had fielded Union Minister SP Baghel against SP President Akhilesh Yadav from Karhal, but he had to face defeat in front of Akhilesh. In such a situation, now BJP has increased its stake to corner Akhilesh Yadav in SP’s stronghold and has made the contest here quite interesting by giving ticket to a relative of the Yadav family.
Wife is District Panchayal President and mother has been MLA.
Anujesh Yadav is a relative of the Saifai family. Anujesh’s wife Sandhya Yadav is the sister of Lok Sabha MP from Azamgarh Dharmendra Yadav. This is also a distinct identity of Sandhya Yadav. She is the first daughter of the Yadav family to enter politics. Sandhya has also been the District Panchayat President from Mainpuri from 2015 to 2020 and during this period her husband Anujesh was the District Panchayat member in Firozabad. Not only this, Anujesh’s mother Urmila Devi has been the MLA of Samajwadi Party from Ghiror assembly constituency of Mainpuri. Even before the 2022 UP Assembly elections, Sandhya Yadav joined BJP with her husband Anujesh Yadav. In this way, before the assembly elections, BJP had given a big blow to the Saifai family by including their own relative in their party. Now BJP is trying to defeat Akhilesh Yadav in SP’s stronghold by giving ticket to Anujesh Yadav from Karhal. Now it remains to be seen whether Anujesh will be able to destroy this stronghold of SP by winning the elections. This will be known only after the elections. But here it is certain that the competition is going to be very interesting.
