UP Congress Protest: Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee has announced to siege the UP Assembly on Wednesday. Since then, thousands of Congress workers have started reaching Lucknow. A large number of workers have gathered around the Congress office, while the administration also seems to be tight and is trying to stop the big leaders of the party. Expressing displeasure over this, Avinash Pandey said, this government wants to suppress the voice of the people. We have come to raise public issues, but we are not being allowed to express our views.
Police made strict security arrangements
While on one hand Congress workers are busy gheraoing the Assembly, on the other hand the police administration has made strict security arrangements. Lucknow Police has started stopping people moving towards the Congress office and has placed big leaders under house arrest in their homes or hotels. So that Congress workers cannot reach the assembly, the police have installed high barricades with sharp iron on them. Section 163 has been imposed in the entire area. The administration has appealed for security reasons that the Assembly session is going on and the demonstration may jeopardize the safety of the members, which may lead to deterioration of law and order.
