Kanpur dehat news; Dr. Sanjay Nishad, the cabinet minister of the fisheries department of the Government of Uttar Pradesh, visited the Sikandra area of Kanpur countryside on Saturday and inspected the under -construction water tank under the Namami Gange project. He inquired from the officials about the progress and quality of work.
He was given a grand welcome by the fisherman community in the Sikandra tehsil campus. The minister listened to the problems of the community carefully and while giving detailed information about fishermen welfare schemes, said that the state government is making continuous efforts to make them self -reliant.
During the press conference, Minister Sanjay Nishad, while giving his response to the Etawah Katha episode, said that the Constitution protects the rights of all classes, and should not be political misuse.
Taking a dig at the SP-BSP, he said that Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar had recommended the inclusion of 66 ethnic groups in the Scheduled Castes under Section 342 of the Constitution, but the SP-BSP governments gave benefits to some of them and did social injustice by putting the rest in backward classes.
The minister alleged that in the last 30 years, the SP-BSP governments neither understood nor implemented the Constitution properly. He said that those who take oath to protect the Constitution, are doing politics on constitutional values.
He also reminded that at the time of constitution making, the upper classes had laid a strong foundation of social harmony by giving priority to the lower classes.
