UP News: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, in an important meeting on Friday, discussed the results so far and future policy regarding the resolution of making the state a state with a one trillion economy. CM said that due to the planned efforts of the last 07 years, the economy of the state is in the best condition today.
CM Yogi reviewed the sector-wise progress and said that against the GDP of 16.45 lakh crore in 2021-22, it has increased to more than 25.48 lakh crore in 2023-24 and our GSDP target this year is 32 lakh crore. Policy and planning are the only means to achieve this goal, we just need to speed up the pace.
He said that there is a need for capacity building of every department and be prepared for major reforms. Nodal officer should be nominated in every department for OTDE. Along with this, the Principal Secretary and the departmental minister should review fortnightly and monthly. Every department has a role to play in achieving the OTDE goal and the efforts so far are in the right direction.
Fast pace is necessary to achieve the goal
CM Yogi further said that there should be unnecessary delay in matters related to investment and land acquisition, for this accountability of the District Magistrate should be fixed. GDP and per capita income more than doubled in the last 07 years. The gross value addition against the estimated GSVA of Rs 23 lakh crore for the state in 2023-24 has been Rs 23.24 lakh crore. The CAGR in 2023-24 will be around 16 per cent and the target for the current year is to achieve 25 per cent.
Seed ecosystem needs to be further improved
He said that we have to further improve the seed ecosystem in the agriculture sector, for this there is a need to increase efforts like seed parks. Efforts should also be made to improve crop diversification and better supply chain management. Programs like ‘Per Block-One Crop’ should be encouraged in horticulture.
Uttar Pradesh is the first choice for tourists
CM Yogi said that the progress in hotels/restaurants, transport, communication, real estate, professional services and other services is encouraging. Uttar Pradesh has become the first choice of tourists in the country. More than 62 crore tourists have arrived so far in the current year. We should identify centers like Ayodhya, Buddhist Circuit and Naimisharanya and do better branding of them. He said that public facilities at tourist places should be further improved.
Collect data accurately
He said that the private sector has a big role in the success of OTDE’s goal. We have to continue contact and communication with investors. MoUs need to be put on ground. Make better efforts for land bank expansion, policy reforms and ease of doing business. To get the expected results, it is important to collect data with accuracy; for this, emphasis should be laid on training.
CM said that it is necessary to increase the land bank for industrial projects. Identify the sick unit. He said that Artificial Intelligence (AI) and drone policy should be brought as soon as possible. Land is reserved for AI City in Lucknow, work on it should be started soon.
Make village and town panchayats self-reliant
He said that efforts should be made to increase the income of village and nagar panchayats to make them self-reliant. Big proposals are being received from the private sector for hospitals, housing and hotels. There is a lot of potential in this sector. Facilitation offices for startup registration should be started in Kanpur as well as Noida. He has laid emphasis on the establishment of IT/ITeS testing centers in the state.
