PM Modi and Donald Trump: Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Donald Trump on his landslide victory in the US elections on Thursday. The Indian Foreign Ministry shared details of the conversation between the two leaders and also said that they respect the mandate given by the Americans.
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has spoken to Donald Trump. He said that we look forward to working together with them. India celebrates this expression of the people’s mandate. He said that during the conversation, both the leaders discussed that India and America will work for the betterment of both people and global peace and prosperity. The leaders reiterated the importance of the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership for the benefit of both countries and for global peace and stability.
During this, both the leaders also recalled their memorable interactions including the ‘Howdy Modi’ program in Houston and the ‘Namaste Trump’ program in Ahmedabad.
