Sitapur (Uttar Pradesh), January 23 (IANS). Another FIR has been registered against Congress MP Rakesh Rathod from Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh in the ongoing rape case. The MP and five of his family members have been accused of making the victim’s identity public on social media and putting pressure on the victim.
Congress MP from Sitapur Lok Sabha constituency Rakesh Rathod has been accused of rape by a woman of his own caste. The victim’s husband has alleged in the complaint given to the police that the MP and his son Ratnam Rathore are continuously pressurizing the victim and her family to withdraw the case.
The victim’s husband told that on Wednesday, Rakesh Rathod and his family members Komal Rathod, Gopal Ji Rathod, Anil Rathod, Vishnu Rathod and Jugendra Rathod made objectionable comments on social media to defame the victim, due to which the victim and her family suffered mental distress. Is under stress. After this, on the basis of the complaint, the police have registered a case against the MP’s family. He has also handed over screenshots of the comments made on social media to the police.
Police has not been able to reach MP Rathore yet. On Tuesday night, the police arrested MP representative Wasiullah Khan, who is a resident of Manni Chauraha. Apart from this, mobile phones of other family members of the MP named in the FIR have also been seized. On Thursday, Dharmendra Kumar, an employee of MP’s brother Anupam Rathod, was also detained.
Meanwhile, MP Rakesh Rathod has criticized the police action in a post on social media. He has called it unconstitutional and a violation of human rights.
Additional Superintendent of Police North Prakash Kumar said that a case of rape was registered on the basis of the complaint given by a woman on January 17. In this case it came to light that some people deliberately made the identity of the victim public on social media. Taking this seriously, the police have registered another case. Strict legal action will be taken against all concerned persons in this matter.
