Lucknow, October 16 (IANS). The Election Commission on Tuesday announced by-elections for 48 assembly seats in 15 states of the country along with the assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand. It also includes nine assembly seats of Uttar Pradesh. Since the announcement of the dates, political rhetoric has intensified. Uttar Pradesh Minister of State (Independent Charge) Aseem Arun had an exclusive conversation with IANS on this issue.
Aseem Arun told IANS that the Bharatiya Janata Party has been working very hard for the last two-three months for the by-elections on nine assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh. The party’s membership campaign has played a big role in this. I believe that each member of the party will add five other members to the party and India’s vote share percentage will increase rapidly on all nine assembly seats and we will win on all nine seats.
Regarding the opposition grand alliance ‘India’, the BJP minister said that the only policy of his alliance has been to “remove Modi”, but in the Lok Sabha elections, the public reposed trust in us. In such a situation, we will win in the by-elections also. I believe that this election is an election of blessings.
On the Election Commission saying it was wrong to raise questions about EVMs, the BJP minister said that the Election Commission has already given the opportunity to hackers several times to explain how the machine can be hacked. But no one ever got success. Secondly, when they won, it was “my popularity” and when they lost, it was “the fault of EVMs”, this will not be accepted by the people of Uttar Pradesh and the voters of India.
The Uttar Pradesh government is considering bringing an ordinance regarding spitting in food and identification of street vendors. In response to this question, he said that this is a very disgusting thing. Whatever law is needed to stop this, the BJP government will make it. Those who commit such acts should be punished, irrespective of their religion or any other basis.
