US Vice President JD Vance along with his wife and three children landed at Agra Airport from Jaipur on Wednesday, where he was welcomed by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Adityanath wrote on X, “Honorable American Vice President Shri JD Vance and his family are warmly welcomed in Uttar Pradesh, which is the holy heart of India and is famous for its eternal devotion, vibrant culture and spiritual heritage.”
Vance was accompanied by his wife Usha and his three children, son Ivan and Vivek and daughter Meerabel. The family is on a four -day visit to India.
At the airport, Vance was seen having a brief conversation with Adityanath, who welcomed the guests with flowers.
The Vance family traveled by car from the airport to the Taj Mahal. The routes falling on the way to their convoy were specially decorated, hundreds of school children were waving both the American flag and the tricolor by standing in queues on the streets.
The Vance couple started their visit to India on Monday with a visit to the Akshardham temple near the Yamuna coast, and then met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the capital at his residence.
