Greater Noida, Sep 11 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday inaugurated ‘Semicon India-2024’ organized in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. During this, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was also present with PM Modi.
Thousands of businessmen from India and abroad will participate in it and in the coming time, a semiconductor park will also be built on the land of Yamuna Authority, in which all foreign companies will be encouraged to invest.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that I heartily welcome all the global leaders, CEOs and the Prime Minister from the semiconductor industry who have come from all over the world. I am very grateful to this ceremony being organized to bring the Prime Minister’s vision of establishing India as a global leader to reality. Since the year 2020, we have been continuously affected by the biggest pandemic of this century, Covid-19. On the one hand, the ill effects of Covid-19 and on the other hand, the global political tensions had a major impact on the global supply chain.
He said that at that time every field, whether it is automobile, medical equipment, every field related to electronic items, we saw people getting affected by it. But, we are fortunate that through our visionary leadership, when the world was troubled by Covid-19, we successfully managed it. India takes this program forward by issuing notification for the development of semiconductor and display manufacturing ecosystem.
He said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi and his visionary leadership, special attention has been given to IT sector, semiconductors, data centers, electronic manufacturing in Uttar Pradesh. 55 percent of the manufacturing of mobile parts in entire India is being done in Uttar Pradesh. Uttar Pradesh has emerged as an exporter of consumer electronics. Samsung India has also established its display unit plant in Noida. Today Uttar Pradesh has established itself as a major hub of data centers. ‘Uttar Pradesh Semiconductor Policy-2024’ has been implemented to create a semiconductor control environment in the state.
CM Yogi said that Uttar Pradesh is already establishing itself as a global semiconductor design engineer. Many big companies are already present here. Major companies like NCP and Synopsys are in the state. It has been decided to give the status of industry to the IT industry in the state. So that the industrial land under the authorities can be given to IT companies at cheap industrial rates and electricity can also be supplied to all IT companies of 150 kW at industrial rates.
He said that many steps have been taken to create a favorable environment for investment in the state. The state has consistently achieved the status of top achiever in ease of doing business. 27 factorial policies related to semiconductor, IT, data center, electronic manufacturing, defense and aerospace, electric vehicle, warehousing and logistics, MSME textile and tourism etc. are applicable in the state. We also have a dedicated policy for FDI Fortune Global 500 and Fortune India 500 companies in Uttar Pradesh.
CM Yogi said that technology should be used for the convenience of entrepreneurs, for which more than 450 online services are being operated through a single window ‘Investment Mitra’. ‘Investment Sarathi’ portal has been developed. ‘Mitra’ has been deployed to assist investors. The excellent system of infrastructure connectivity is the USP of Uttar Pradesh today. Uttar Pradesh has a large network of roads and railways, these Western and Eastern Dedicated Train Corridors pass through the state.
He informed that the state’s first inland waterway is operational between Varanasi and Haldia. Along with the multi-model terminal in Varanasi, multi-model logistics hub in Dadri, Udki multi-model transport in Bodaki are being developed. Along the Yamuna Expressway, the state’s first medical device park, film city, toy city, April park, handicraft park, integrated township in Greater Noida, mega food park in Bareilly, trans-Ganga city in Unnao etc. schemes are also progressing rapidly.
