Uttar pradesh news: Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai held a press conference at the party office on Monday and put the Yogi government in the dock with the Vrindavan Corridor project. During this time, Acharya and saints from Vrindavan were present on the stage with him. Through the press conference, Ajay Rai accused the government of destroying religious heritage, neglecting the local people and playing with public sentiments for personal interests.
Government wants to make a picnic spot
Ajay Rai said, Vrindavan is not just a pilgrimage site, it is a lively symbol of our spiritual tradition. But the Yogi government is also bent on changing it as a picnic spot to a commercial center. Hundreds of years old cultural heritage should be abolished in the name of the corridor. He alleged that the government is making plans without taking the local saints, ashrams and natives of Vrindavan, Brajwasis without confidence. He said that the land around the historic temples is being acquired in the name of construction of the corridor, which is completely inappropriate.
Monastery ready to buy four times money
Acharya Pandit Sohan Lal, who came from Vrindavan present in the press conference, also criticized the government’s policy and said that we have lived for 500 years. We do not object to development, but the way construction plans are being made by ignoring the archaic and original form of temples, it is condemnable. Let Vrindavan remain Vrindavan, do not make it a mall or a tourist destination. He also challenged CM Yogi Adityanath and said that we want to take your monastery four times the money? If not, do not take my kunj street and house in the name of perceived development.
RSS and capitalists conspiracy
The Congress state president further said that this project is a conspiracy of RSS, saffron traders and capitalists. He finally said that the Congress party will conduct a widespread public campaign against the Vrindavan Corridor. He has reached Vrindavan a few days ago and held a meeting with Sant Samaj, local citizens and Brajwasis, raising their words on the national stage. He appealed to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to meet the Sant Samaj and withdraw the project, respecting public sentiments. If the government does not back down, the Congress will struggle at both the legal and mass movement.
