Bengaluru, October 29 (IANS). ‘Run for Unity’ was organized in Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka, in the birth anniversary week of Iron Man Sardar Patel. In this race, State BJP President B.Y. Vijayendra and opposition leader R. Ashok also participated.

Before the start of the race, BJP state president B.Y. Vijayendra spoke to IANS. He said, “We are organizing the Karnataka ‘Run for Unity’. 2 days ago, the Prime Minister had given the message that all over India, we are doing this because Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the national leader, the Iron Man is the role model of the country. That’s why we are celebrating the birthday of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Sardar Patel means unity. Because of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel the whole of India became one India. He is the biggest leader of India.”

State Assembly Leader of Opposition R. Ashok said, “This has been made possible by the call given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the birth anniversary of the country’s first Deputy Prime Minister, Iron Man and Bharat Ratna Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Every youth of this country should remember the sacrifice of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. He is a great leader who stood firmly for the unity and integrity of this country. Therefore, in his memory, our Prime Minister has given this call and we have appealed to run for unity. Actually, we were supposed to celebrate on 31st September. But since it is Diwali, the Prime Minister called for celebrating this day.”

After this he also reacted to the allegation of infighting leveled against him by the state Congress party. He said, “The internal issues of the party are separate, which will be dealt with separately. But the thing is that when poor farmers have been cultivating these lands for 50, 100 years, then what was the need for the bureaucrats to issue notices to the farmers? And names of many lands are clearly mentioned in the documents. This has been described as work property. Why did this issue suddenly arise? This is only because of the dirty politics spread with the ruling Congress party. So, our legal team, our team of experts, has reached Bijapur today itself. He will travel throughout Bijapur district, meeting all the distressed farmers.”
