But his journey remained incomplete and an Air India aircraft AI-171 crashed only a few minutes after flying from Ahmedabad Airport. A passenger survived, in the incident, 241 out of 242 people aboard the aircraft died. A passenger miraculously survived the incident. He told that he had a seat belt and his seat got out of the plane, which saved his life. Vijay Rupani’s wife Anjali Rupani reached Ahmedabad Airport in the morning. On June 3, Vijay Rupani had booked tickets for traveling abroad with his wife. His wife had already left for London. Vijay Rupani could not go due to the by -elections in Punjab and Gujarat.
