New Delhi’s District Election Officer (DEO) has dismissed as ‘baseless’ AAP leader Sanjay Singh’s allegations of removing names of voters from the voter list in that assembly constituency. Party convenor and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is going to contest the upcoming elections from this constituency.
The DEO posted on ‘ Deliberately removing names of voters. District officers of New Delhi also act as DEOs during elections.
Singh had met the DEO of New Delhi and demanded to provide the names of those who have applied for deletion of names of voters in the constituency.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has accused the BJP of filing mass applications to remove names of voters supporting the Kejriwal-led party in Delhi.
The DEO stressed that the process of removing any name from the voter list is carried out after complete verification as per the guidelines of the Election Commission.
