भारत में कई सिंगापुर बनाना चाहते हैं : पीएम मोदी

New Delhi, September 5 (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two-day visit to Singapore. PM Modi was given a grand welcome at the Singapore Parliament.

He said on Thursday that we want to create many Singapores in India. The ‘ministerial round table’ has become a symbol of cooperation between the two countries.

“Singapore is not just a partner country but an inspiration for every developing country. We also want to create many Singapores in India and are working together for this.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said this in a meeting with his Singapore counterpart Lawrence Wong. During this, they also discussed ways to promote bilateral relations.

He said that “The ministerial round table conference that has been formed between us is a path-breaking mechanism. It has become a symbol of cooperation in areas like skill, digitalization, mobility, advanced manufacturing, AI, healthcare, cyber security.”

In the presence of Prime Minister Modi and Singapore PM Wong, several MoUs were signed between India and Singapore in the fields of digital technology, health and medicine, educational cooperation and skill development, and India-Singapore semiconductor ecosystem partnership.

Before the talks, PM Modi was formally welcomed at the Singapore Parliament House. PM Modi and Singapore PM Wong met ministers and representatives of each other’s countries at the Parliament House. PM Modi also signed the visitor’s book.

This meeting between the two leaders took place a few days after Singapore PM Wong became the Prime Minister and PM Modi started his third term as Prime Minister.

PM Modi congratulated him on becoming the Prime Minister and said, “I thank you for your warm welcome. This is our first meeting after you assumed the post of Prime Minister. Many congratulations to you from my side. I am confident that Singapore will progress even faster under the leadership of 4G.”

PM Modi reached Singapore on Wednesday from Brunei in the last leg of his two-nation visit.
