Wayanad landslide: Priyanka accused the Center of betrayal, government surrounded the loan waiver of the victims

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Thursday alleged that the Central Government has betrayed the landslide victims of Wayanad and betrayed them.

The Central Government has told the Kerala High Court that the loans of the people affected by the landslides in Wayanad, Kerala in July last year, will not be reinstated as per the instructions related to the natural disasters of the Reserve Bank.

Priyanka Gandhi, a Lok Sabha member from Wayanad, posted on ‘X’, “Wayanad landslide victims have lost everything at home, land, livelihood. Nevertheless, the government refuses to offer loan waiver. Instead, they only get the facility of loan restriction.”

He alleged that this is not a relief, but a betrayal.

Priyanka Gandhi said, “We strongly condemn this apathy and stand shoulder to shoulder with her brothers and sisters in Wayanad. Their pain will not be ignored. We will raise their voice on every stage till justice is found.”

On July 30 last year, a major landslide occurred in the Mundakkai and Churalamala areas, causing the two areas to be almost completely completely destroyed. Hundreds of people were injured in this disaster, more than 200 people lost their lives and 32 people went missing.
