Chhattisgarh, September 11 (IANS) Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai on Wednesday paid tribute to forest martyrs at Urja Park on the occasion of National Forest Martyrs’ Day. On this occasion, the Chief Minister unveiled the Forest Martyrs Memorial. During this, he also gave the message of saving the environment by planting a tree under the slogan ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’.
Talking to the media, he said, “Today the 20th National Forest Martyrs’ Day is being celebrated. On this occasion, our main objective is to protect forest wealth and the environment. I pay tribute to all our martyred soldiers who have been martyred while protecting wildlife and forest wealth in the past. May God give them a place in his feet.”
Regarding protection from attacks on forest security personnel, he said that there are many types of attacks on soldiers. Our soldiers are martyred in many ways. One is the attack by forest mafia. During this, our soldiers are martyred and many times there is an attack by wild animals, due to which soldiers are martyred. The government is concerned about this.
Regarding the problems caused by floods in the state, he said that this time it is raining heavily. Especially in the areas of Bastar, it is raining very heavily. Due to this, a flood situation has arisen. The government is on alert for this. Instructions have been given to all the district heads. Everyone is alert. There has been no damage so far due to this.
The Chief Minister, who returned to Raipur on Tuesday after inaugurating the Chakradhar Mahotsav being celebrated in Raigarh on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Chhattisgarh’s King Chakradhar, spoke to journalists. On the question of Naxalism becoming stronger again in the state, he said, “We are fighting strongly against Naxalism. The country’s Home Minister Amit Shah has declared a deadline of 2026 to eliminate Naxalism from the country. No one should have any doubts about his announcement.”
Apart from this, on the ultimatum given by the main opposition party Congress to hold dharna from September 12 against the rising prices of cement in the state, he said that the opposition should perform its duty, we are performing our duty.
