‘We are not afraid of anyone … We are being targeted “: Robert Vadra reached the ED office for second round inquiry

'We are not afraid of anyone ... We are being targeted ": Robert Vadra reached the ED office for second round inquiry

Businessman Robert Vadra along with his wife and Lok Sabha MP Priyanka Gandhi reached the Enforcement Directorate office in Delhi on Wednesday for the second round of questioning.

Just before leaving for questioning, Vadra told ANI, “We are not afraid of anyone … we are goals because we are relevant. Whether Rahul Gandhi is stopped in Parliament or stopping me outside.”

Vadra said, “I am surprised to see the second summons from the agency, because I have appeared before the agency 15 times before the same matter. I was questioned for 10 hours and I gave 23,000 documents. I showed my statements of 2019 to the agency and you are asking the same questions that I responded in in 2019 and the people of the agency are also surprised. I can only say that the agencies are being misused.”

The businessman claimed that former Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has already given him a clean chit in the matter. He said, “When it was investigated in Haryana, the administration found that nothing went wrong. Khattar ji gave me a clean chit in the same case. I do not understand why I am being questioned again after 7 years.”

Vadra reached the ED office with his wife and Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi. Just before going in, both of them hugged and expressed happiness. Vadra claimed that despite being targeted, he would emerge stronger than this.

He claimed, “We definitely have goals, but we are not easy goals; we are difficult goals and will become more difficult … I will never call myself easy goals; whatever pressure is put on me, I will be stronger.”

He also dismissed speculation about whether he would try to leave the country during interrogation. He told ANI, “I will not run away from the country. I will answer all the questions. I have no problem in using as many agencies as you want.”

His remarks have come amidst the ongoing investigation into the Gurugram land case, for which the ED has called Vadra for the second time in two days.

Earlier today, Vadra targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party and claimed that ‘espionage’ and ‘political vengeance’ are being run against him and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Vadra said that he is innocent and ‘Truth will win.’

Vadra wrote on Facebook, “I am ready for any kind of unfair pressure. I believe in truth, truth will win.”

He has also claimed that his “birthday week service” has been banned. Targeting the government indirectly, Vadra said that he would continue to meet the basic needs of the people until he is stopped from speaking against the “injustice” to the minorities.

Yesterday (April 15), after interrogation, Vadra came out of the ED office and said that he had answered all the questions asked for him. He said, “All the questions I have answered earlier are being answered again. There is no issue. I have nothing to hide. Everything has been answered; everything will be answered again.”

He said that in 2019 he also handed over more than 20,000 documents to the agency, and he described the summons as “inspired by politics”.

Vadra said, “23,000 documents were submitted in 2019. The case they are asking about me is a 20 -year -old case. It is inspired by politics. When we do a transaction we follow all rules and regulations. The ruling government always misuses the agency. They can ask me questions as much as I want to hide.”
