Mumbai, 27 November (IANS). Raju Waghmare, leader and spokesperson of Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, spoke to IANS on Wednesday. He reacted to the tension created over the next Chief Minister of Maharashtra in Mahayuti.
He said that the first thing is that there is no discord, no differences and no conflict within the Mahayuti. There is no dispute between us. As far as the question is why the post of Chief Minister was not decided even after such a majority, we are waiting for the decision of the top leaders of Mahayuti and whatever decision they take, we will accept it. This is not a new statement, we have been saying this even before the elections.
He said that Maharashtra is a big state and we have got majority here. It may take some time to choose the Chief Minister.
On the question related to Eknath Shinde’s role in the future government, he said that the tenure of the current Maharashtra Assembly ended on 26 November. After this Eknath Shinde resigned from the post of Chief Minister. Now he is running Maharashtra as the acting CM, till the state gets the next Chief Minister, he will continue to play his role honestly.
He said that I am reiterating again that we still want to see Eknath Shinde as the Chief Minister, and we will continue to demand it. Making such a demand is not a crime. However, as we have said earlier, and as our leader Eknath Shinde has also said, we will accept any decision taken by the top leadership of the Mahayuti alliance.
On Rahul Gandhi’s statement on Veer Savarkar, he has said that Congress and Rahul Gandhi remain silent just to show off. But, the reality is that their hearts are filled with hatred for Veer Savarkar. What will we set up this shop of love for? There is only hatred for Veer Savarkar in their hearts.
The special thing is that on one hand Raju Waghmare talked about Eknath Shinde becoming CM again. So, on the other hand, on Wednesday Eknath Shinde announced that he does not want to become the Chief Minister. He is happy to be the beloved brother of the beloved sisters of Maharashtra. After his announcement it became clear that the next Chief Minister of Maharashtra has been decided from the BJP camp.
