When Modi-Rahul complained, Election Commission asked for reply, gave ultimatum of this date to Congress-BJP. News Track in Hindi

On November 16, the Election Commission has written a letter to BJP President Jagat Prakash Nadda and Congress Mallikarjun Kharge asking them to comment on the complaints lodged by both the parties against each other. The Commission has written to BJP President Nadda and Congress President Kharge in separate letters to them over alleged violation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) during the campaign for the ongoing assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand as well as by-elections in West Bengal, Karnataka and several other states. Asked to comment on the violation. Acting on the complaints made by both the parties against each other, the Election Commission has sought their reply by 1 pm on November 18. The Commission also reminded party chiefs of its advisory issued during the Lok Sabha elections, wherein parties were ordered to ensure that their star campaigners maintain public decorum and follow the model code of conduct during campaigning.

In its letter to the Congress President, the Election Commission said that the Commission has received a complaint on November 11 from the Bharatiya Janata Party, alleging that during the assembly elections and several by-elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand, there was corruption by the star campaigners of the Congress. The provisions of the Model Code of Conduct have been violated. I am directed to enclose a copy of the complaint dated 11th November made by the Bharatiya Janata Party, a nationally recognized political party, mentioned above, with instructions to submit your comments by noon on 18th November. Send to the commission by 1 pm.

Congress-BJP had complained against each other in the Election Commission

The BJP delegation had complained to the Election Commission on November 11 against Leader of Opposition and star campaigner of Congress Rahul Gandhi. BJP had complained about Rahul Gandhi’s claim in which he had said, “BJP wants to abolish the Constitution.”

At the same time, on November 13, she had approached the Election Commission to complain about Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah and alleged that both the BJP leaders were violating the election code of conduct. Regarding this, Congress leader Jairam Naresh had written a post on We have asked the Commission to investigate the electoral violations of BJP and its leaders. We hope that the Election Commission will act on these complaints with the same promptness that they deserve.
