When will peace be established in Nagaland! Center's envoy Mishra met NSCN-IM leaders

Central government messenger for Naga peace talks, A.K. Of. Mishra met NSCN (IM) leaders on Friday. Sources gave this information. Sources said that Mishra, advisor for North Eastern Affairs in the Ministry of Home Affairs, held a meeting for about an hour with the top leadership of NSCN (IM) in Chumukidima district. However, information about the details of the meeting has not been shared.

Mishra held several meetings with various political groups in Nagaland during his two -day visit to Dimapur with a joint director of the Intelligence Bureau. He left for Delhi this evening.

Sources said that they also met two working workers of the ‘Naga National Political Group’ (NNPG), one of whom is headed by newly appointed convenor MB Niyokapao and the other of N Kitovi Jhimomi.

The Center and the NSCN-IM signed a ceasefire in 1997, which led to the negotiations for the political solution of the long-standing struggle. Following over seventy round talks, the Center signed the outline agreement with NSCN-IM in 2015.

However, the Center has not accepted a separate flag for the Nagas and the constant demand for NSCN-IM of the Constitution, causing the conversation to be prolonged.
