New York, 4 June (IANS). Former US Government Efficiency Department (DOGE) chief Elon Musk has expressed his disagreement over President Donald Trump’s new expenditure law. At the same time, Trump has named this law “Big Beautiful Bill”.
In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, Musk condemned the bill, calling the bill an objectionable and “filled with unnecessary expenses” bills. He criticized the MPs supporting this, saying, “Those who voted for it should be ashamed: you know that you did wrong.”
He said, “I am sorry, but I can no longer tolerate it. Those who vote should be ashamed for this.
However, the White House did not take this criticism of Musk more seriously and ignored it. Press Secretary Carolina Lewit replied during a briefing, saying, “The President already knows what is the trend of Allen Musk on this bill. This does not change the President’s opinion. It is a very beautiful bill, and he is standing on it.”
Musk’s opposition is not limited to social media only. In an interview with CBS News, he explained his disagreement in detail that the law “will already extend the huge budget deficit to 2.5 trillion.” He also accused the Congress of “making America insolvency”.
This is not the first time Musk has criticized this bill. Republican fiscal partners argue that it can lead the country to bankruptcy, while independent analysts have warned that this may increase the deficit to $ 4 trillion in the next decade.
At a press conference on Friday, Trump praised the bill and called it “an incredible bill” that “cuts your deficit”. He also suggested that he would like “big tax cuts”. Musk, who was present at the press conference, did not say anything against the subject at that time.
