The Legislative Council had a fierce debate in the Legislative Council for a long time today when Shiv Sena (UBT) Legislative Council member Anil called Maharashtra Minister Shambhuraj Desai was called ‘traitor’. The clash took place during the ongoing debate on providing legal protection of housing to Marathi -speaking people around Mumbai and its surroundings. Desai later told reporters that legal provisions were being discussed for Marathi people to ensure housing. BJP Legislative Councilor Chitra Wagh asked whether the Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) government has made any such legal provision. I replied that that government has not taken any such step.
Anil Parab accused of threatening
According to Desai, Anil Parab became angry with his reply. Desai said that I mentioned the government led by Uddhav Thackeray, which I was the first part. Parab pointed to this and called me ‘traitor’. I also replied in the same language and there was a sharp debate between us.
He further said that Parab also threatened me that he would deal with me outside the House. I accepted the challenge and told them that I am ready to face them outside. He said that after this, the Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Council Neelam Gorhe adjourned the proceedings of the House for some time and discussed the matter with both the MLAs in his cabin. According to Desai, Deputy Chairman said that she would remove these comments from the official record. After this, the proceedings of the House started again.
