New Delhi, September 16 (IANS). Delhi government’s Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj has put an end to all the speculations about who will be the Chief Minister. He said that due to Monday’s holiday, it will be decided on Tuesday who will be the CM.
He said these things at the Aam Aadmi Party office in Delhi. Responding to media questions, Bhardwaj said, today is Monday, Eid holiday. Tomorrow is the first working day of the week i.e. Tuesday. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will resign from his post.
As soon as the CM’s resignation is accepted, the party will call a meeting of the legislative party. We have 60 MLAs. The name that will be agreed upon in the legislative party meeting will become the next Chief Minister of Delhi.
Work in Delhi will be done according to the new Chief Minister. Saurabh Bhardwaj said, I cannot say right now who will become the CM.
Let us tell you that after the announcement of the resignation of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, there were speculations that his wife Sunita Kejriwal could become the Chief Minister. At the same time, it is also being claimed that Arvind Kejriwal can announce the name of Minister Atishi, who is handling more than a dozen departments in the government.
Minister Kailash Gehlot is also in the race for CM.
Saurabh Bhardwaj further said in the press conference, the Chief Minister announced his resignation voluntarily after being released from jail. Which is an important step. He said, there is widespread discontent among the people against the Bharatiya Janata Party.
This discontent stems from the fact that the Chief Minister, who cleared the IIT and IRS exams, worked as Income Tax Commissioner, left his job to serve in the slums for ten years and continued to struggle even while in office.
During his tenure as Chief Minister for the last 9 years, many restrictions were imposed on him. But Kejriwal continued to work for the people of Delhi.
Saurabh said, there is such impatience among the people of Delhi that they are saying that elections should be held soon and we should make Arvind Kejriwal the Chief Minister again by voting for the Aam Aadmi Party.
When Kejriwal resigned after coming out of jail, people are saying that he did a good job by not resigning in jail. People are very angry with the conspiracy hatched by BJP against Kejriwal.
