West Bengal News Desk!!! There has been a new twist in the case of rape and murder of a female trainee doctor at RG Kar Hospital and Medical College in Kolkata. SHO Abhijit Mandal, who was arrested by the CBI, reached the police station in support. A senior Kolkata Police officer praised Abhijit Mandal and said that he conducted the initial investigation in a transparent manner.
Additional Commissioner of Kolkata Police V Solomon Nesakumar along with a senior officer met Abhijit Mandal’s family and assured them of all possible help. In this regard, Nesakumar said that he spoke to Abhijit Mandal’s wife and told her that the police department stands with his family.
Abhijit Mandal is not guilty: Additional Commissioner
He said that he personally believes that he (Abhijit Mandal) is not guilty. Whatever he did, his intentions were good. He reached the spot in the shortest possible time and investigated the case in a transparent manner and worked in the interest of justice.
SHO was arrested by CBI
Let us tell you that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had arrested Tala police station in-charge Abhijit Mandal along with RG Kar’s former principal Sandeep Ghosh in the woman doctor rape-murder case. Abhijit Mandal is accused of filing an FIR 14 hours late in the case of rape and murder of a trainee doctor. Sandeep Ghosh is already in CBI custody in the corruption case.
