Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav has expelled his elder son Tej Pratap Yadav from the party for six years and has also separated him from the family.
Aishwarya Rai, the ex -wife of RJD leader Tej Pratap Yadav, broke her silence on Monday and questioned the time of her expulsion and accused the family of ruining her life.
Talking to reporters in Patna, Rai said, “Why was my life ruined? Why were I beaten up? Now they have suddenly come to social awakening. They are all together. They are not separated. The elections are near, so they took such a step and created this drama.”
Tej Pratap married Aishwarya Rai, granddaughter of former Bihar Chief Minister Daroga Rai. However, this marriage did not last long. A few months later, Aishwarya left the Yadav family and alleged that her husband and her family members had expelled her from the house.
His remarks came after RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s expel to his elder son Tej Pratap Yadav from the party for six years and allegedly abolishing family relations, making speculation about internal family disputes and political objectives.
Referring to her previous sorrow, Aishwarya Rai said, “Everyone knows what happened. If he (Lalu Prasad Yadav’s family) knew all, why did they marry me? Why did they get me married? Why was my life ruined? Why was I beaten? When I was suffering, where was his social justice?”
He also surprised how he came to know about his divorce, and said that he got this information only through the media. He said, “I came to know about my divorce from the media. I did not know what was happening.”
He directly alleged, “Now that this thing has come to light, his affair has been going on for 12 years and the easiest way is to blame the woman. When will I get justice? I will continue my fight.”
Meanwhile, while reacting briefly to this development, Tej Pratap’s sister and RJD MP Misa Bharti said, “Our party’s national president Lalu Prasad Yadav has made his stand clear. My father, who is the head of our family, has made his stand clear. I have nothing else to say.”
In a statement on X, Lalu Yadav said, “My elder son’s activities, public behavior and irresponsible conduct are not in line with our family values and cultural ethos. Ignoring moral values in personal life weakens our collective struggle for social justice. The activities of the elder son, public conduct and irresponsible behavior do not suit our family values and traditions.”
He further announced, “So due to the above circumstances I expel him from the party and family. From now on, he will not have any kind of role in the party and family. He is expelled from the party for six years. They are able to see the good-evil and virtue of their personal life.”
Lalu Yadav also said that whoever wants to keep contact with Tej Pratap is free to take his decision. He said, “Those who will belong to Tej Pratap should take their own decision. I have always been in favor of public life in public life. The obedient members of the family adopted and follow the idea in public life. Thank you.”
Reacting to the matter, Tej Pratap’s younger brother and former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav said that this is unfortunate, but the matter is private. He said, “We cannot tolerate such things. We are working for the people of Bihar and are dedicated. If the matter is of my elder brother, then political life and personal life are different. They have the right to take their personal decisions.”
He said, “He is an adult and is free to take decisions. The head of our party has made it clear and ever since he said, this is his feeling. We have not questioned such things. What he is doing in his personal life, no one asks before doing anything. I came to know about it only through media.”
