Jammu News Desk !!! Administrative preparations have been intensified ahead of the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir government has made administrative changes as per the recommendations of the Election Commission on Friday (August 30) night. Four officers of the Jammu and Kashmir Police Service were appointed as the new Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Srinagar, Baramulla and Kupwara districts and Superintendent of Police (SP) of Handwara.
According to the order issued by Principal Secretary Home Chandrakar Bharti, seven police officers including two IPS have been transferred. On Wednesday, the Election Commission had directed the transfer of senior police officers of Srinagar, Baramulla, Kupwara districts and Handwara SP.

According to news agency PTI, the order said that JKPS officer Imtiyaz Hussain Mir has been posted as SSP Srinagar, Mohammad Zaid as SSP Baramulla, Ghulam Jilani Wani as SSP Kupwara and Ifroz Ahmed as SP Handwara. IPS officers Gurinderpal Singh and Shobit Saxena have been removed from the post of SSP of Baramulla and Kupwara districts and made in-charge Director Police Telecommunication and SSP CID (Headquarters).
Handwara SP Dawood Ayub has been appointed as SSP CID (headquarters), the order said. In a press release sent to the Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir, the Commission approved the appointment of Mohammad Zaid as SSP Baramulla, Ghulam Jilani Wani as SSP Kupwara, Ifroz Ahmad as SP Handwara and Imtiyaz Hussain Mir as SSP Srinagar. The Election Commission on Wednesday directed the Union Territory administration to submit a panel of IPS officers by Thursday evening for the SP and SSP posts in Srinagar, Baramulla, Handwara and Kupwara.
