Will fight religious war for votes in this election: Fadnavis

Mumbai, November 12 (IANS). Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday reiterated the slogan “If we stay together we will be safe”, saying here that this time’s election will be a religious war of votes “for your future generations”.

Addressing a public meeting in Malad area of Mumbai, he admitted that the BJP had made a mistake in Maharashtra in the Lok Sabha elections. Warning AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi, he said, “The jackal has got blood in his mouth. The jackal thinks that we have defeated Modi ji by doing vote jihad in the Lok Sabha. But he does not know what is the strength of Modi ji.” We were probably asleep in Maharashtra and did not understand their votes. But now we have woken up and voted for them. If we fight such a religious war, the jackals will feel that they are no longer in their place.

Appealing to the people to vote thoughtfully, he said, “This time the vote is not for you. This time the vote is for your future generations. If you do not understand properly, you will keep sleeping, so keep this in mind. That it will be difficult to live here in the coming days. Therefore, there is only one slogan – if we stay together, we will be safe.”

Taking a dig at Owaisi in Hyderabadi tone, the BJP leader said, “My Hyderabadi brothers, stay there only, don’t come here. You have no business here. I am not able to understand, what is happening here. Coming here We are being threatened. Aurangzeb is being glorified by coming here.”

He said that even the true Muslim of India does not consider Aurangzeb as his hero. Aurangzeb was an invader. He attacked us. He said, “So listen Owaisi… Now the tricolor will be hoisted all over Pakistan.”
