The Congress said on Friday that the US Immigration Advocates Association (AILA) claim is worrying that 50 percent of the visa cancellation cases of international students belong to Indian students.
Party General Secretary Jairam Ramesh also asked the question that Foreign Minister S Jaishankar will raise the issue in a conversation with his American counterpart Marco Rubio?
Ramesh posted on ‘X’, “A press statement released by the American Immigration Advocates Association is a matter of concern for India. 50 percent of the 327 visas of international students collected by the organization so far are Indians. ”He said that due to the cancellation of the visa, there are inconsistent and unclear and this is constantly increasing the fear and apprehension among the students.
Ramesh questioned whether the Foreign Minister would take this matter in front of his American counterpart by taking cognizance of the matter? The Ministry of External Affairs on Thursday said that the Indian mission in the US is in constant touch with Indian students facing issues related to cancellation of visa and is providing them as much help as possible.
