Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal reached the Election Commission office here on Friday to file a reply to his statement on “poisoning” in the water of Yamuna. Kejriwal was accompanied by Delhi Chief Minister Atishi and Punjab’s counterpart Bhagwant Mann.
Before going to the commission’s office, Kejriwal told reporters that the language used in the second notice indicates that the Commission has already decided its action. He alleged that the Election Commission is targeting AAP to raise his voice, making a “target of messenger”.
Kejriwal said that this is a political conspiracy to discredit ‘AAP’ during the Delhi Assembly elections to keep half of Delhi thirsty due to excessive ammonia “poisonous” water. AAP chief said, “I want to congratulate the people of Delhi that our struggle has been successful and the level of ammonia in Yamuna which was 7 ppm from 26-27 January, has now come down to 2.1 ppm.”
The former Delhi Chief Minister said that he did not ask for time to meet the Commission, but he is going there. On Thursday, Kejriwal accused the Commission and the Chief Election Commissioner of doing politics about his statement and claimed that the amount of ammonia in the Yamuna water supplied from Haryana to Delhi is very high.
The Commission issued two notices to him seeking an answer on his allegation that the BJP government has added “poison” to the Yamuna water as part of an attempt to “genocide” in Delhi. On Friday, Kejriwal said that he rescued Delhi from the artificial water crisis raised to influence the elections, but the commission sent the notice to him.
Kejriwal, who is contesting the assembly elections from New Delhi seat, has been asked to share the details of engineers, places and functioning by Delhi Jal Board employees till 11 am on Friday at 11 am, otherwise to take appropriate decisions in the Commission case Will be independent.
