Now only a few days are left for the year 2024 to end. Everyone is eagerly waiting for the new year i.e. 2025. Everyone will be sitting with new plans for the new year. In such a situation, if we talk about the politics of the country, then in this year 2024, many things happened in the politics of India, which surprised the people. The year 2024 will be memorable from the political point of view.
This year has been very memorable for the Lok Sabha elections, because this time the results of the Lok Sabha elections of different states surprised everyone. The public gave such a mandate, which even big political analysts would not have guessed. Bharatiya Janata Party, which won many states of the country in the Lok Sabha elections, had given the slogan of ‘Chaar Sau Paar’ even before the Lok Sabha elections. Although the party could not cross this figure and was reduced to 240 seats, the party won with the help of JDU, TDP and other allies and once again formed its government at the Centre.
Whereas, if we talk about Uttar Pradesh, something happened here which no one had any idea of. Despite the slogans of Yogi-Yogi being raised in the state, BJP had to face defeat on some seats here. BJP had to face defeat here in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the party had won 62 out of 80 seats, this time it could win only 33 seats.
This year, apart from the Lok Sabha elections, assembly elections were also held in many states. The election results of these states also surprised. If we talk about Odisha, Naveen Patnaik’s party, which was in power for a long time, had to face defeat. BJP emerged as a major party in the state.
At the same time, if we talk about Haryana Assembly elections, then the election results of Haryana also proved the claims of political analysts wrong. Political analysts estimate that this time there is an anti-incumbency wave for BJP and the chances of victory are very difficult. These political analysts claimed that Congress would register victory under the leadership of Bhupendra Singh Hooda, but the results here surprised everyone and BJP once again formed its government in the state.
Same thing happened in Maharashtra also. Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena and Sharad Pawar’s NCP hoped to get public sympathy and capture power, but they had to face a crushing defeat. The grand alliance of BJP-led Shiv Sena led by Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar’s NCP won a landslide victory.
Talking about Congress, like the last elections, this time too the party performed poorly. Similarly, after the removal of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, BJP was expecting majority. However, this could not be accomplished. BJP was also claiming to form the government in Jharkhand, but there too the BJP was disappointed and Hemant Soren formed the government again.
