Lucknow, 25 November (IANS). Yogi government is running various schemes to help every section of the state including the poor, deprived, women and elderly. The benefits of these schemes are being given to everyone across the state without any discrimination. Yogi government is working under ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’.
If we look at the data of the last six years, about five crore needy people have taken advantage of various schemes of the Social Welfare Department. For this, the Yogi government has spent more than Rs 40 thousand crore in the last six years, which shows that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath always stands as a trouble-shooter for the people of the state.
Director of Social Welfare Kumar Prashant said that as per the intention of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, a continuous campaign is being run to provide benefits of the schemes even to the person standing at the last rank. Through the campaign, 11 different schemes of the department are being given benefits. Under this, benefits were given to 4,86,38,827 needy beneficiaries between the last six years 2018-19 to 23-24. For this, Rs 40,667 crore was spent by the Yogi government.
He said that under the National Old Age Pension Scheme of the department, pension is given to the elderly every month. An amount of Rs 25,09,730 lakh was distributed under the scheme to 3,62,57,918 beneficiaries in the last six years. Similarly, under the National Family Benefit Scheme, a lump sum financial assistance of Rs 30,000 is provided to the head of the family living below the poverty line. Under this, financial assistance of Rs 2,03,326 lakh was provided to 6,77,755 families.
Director Kumar Prashant said that on the instructions of CM Yogi, the benefits of the schemes are being given to every needy by screening them. Under the Chief Minister Group Marriage Scheme, the department organizes marriage programs as per the customs and traditions of various communities and religions. Marriages of 3,67,652 couples were conducted under the scheme. For this, Yogi government has spent Rs 1,84,030 lakh. Apart from this, under Scholarship and Fee Reimbursement Scheme, scholarship is given to Scheduled Caste and General Category students. Under Purva Dasham Scholarship Distribution Scheme, scholarship worth Rs 47,308 lakh was distributed to 19,85,389 students of Scheduled Caste and Rs 17,202 lakh was distributed to 6,38,669 students of General Category.
Similarly, under the Post-10th Scholarship and Fee Reimbursement Scheme, scholarship worth Rs 4,84,405 lakh was distributed to 51,96,409 students of Scheduled Caste and Rs 3,43,088 lakh was distributed to 30,60,875 students of General Category. At the same time, assistance is provided to Scheduled Caste persons oppressed by atrocities under the Financial Assistance Scheme.
Under the scheme, assistance worth Rs 1,29,568 lakh was provided to 1,35,030 families. Not only this, pre-examination training centers are being run by the Yogi government. Under this, 5,103 students took advantage of the scheme. Rs 2,913 lakh was spent for this.
Scheduled Caste hostels are being run across the state by the department. 53,862 students have benefited from this in the last six years. Rs 18,670 lakh has been spent for this. Apart from this, Jai Prakash Narayan Sarvodaya Vidyalaya (earlier named Rajkiya Ashram Vidyalaya) is being run across the state. 2,01,693 beneficiaries took advantage of this in the last six years. Yogi government spent Rs 18,670 lakh on this item.
51,608 beneficiaries availed the benefits of Mukhyamantri Abhyudaya Yojana in the last four years. Yogi government has spent Rs 4,666 lakh for this. At the same time, in Uttar Pradesh, parents and senior citizens are being maintained and old age homes are being operated. 6,864 people have taken advantage of this in one year. Rs 6,193 lakh has been spent for this.
Yogi government formed Uttar Pradesh Transgender Welfare Board to connect the transgenders of the state with the mainstream. Through this, campaigns and various programs are being organized across the state for the protection of transgender rights.
