135 bottles of liquor were recovered from a government office in Paru, Muzaffarpur. 7 people including the Mukhiya’s husband have been arrested. The excise department team is investigating the matter.

In Bihar, where liquor is prohibited, a consignment of liquor has been recovered from a government office itself. Officials of the state government’s prohibition and excise department recovered 135 bottles of liquor from the premises of a government office in Paru area of Muzaffarpur district. Officials gave this information on Tuesday. In this case, a total of 7 people have been arrested, including Moti Ram, the husband of the female head of Chintamanpur Panchayat.
Inspector Shivendra Kumar of the liquor, prohibition and excise department told the media that based on a secret information, the officers raided the premises of a government building in Phanda village of Paru area of Muzaffarpur last night and recovered 135 cartons of foreign liquor bottles. The cartons were packed in sacks and kept in a corner of the premises. All 135 cartons have been seized.

He said that this complex was for activities related to the Panchayat Department and the woman Mukhiya is in charge of the building. Later, during the investigation, the Mukhiya’s husband and six other people from the village were arrested after registering a case under the provisions of the State Prohibition Act. He said that the investigation of the case is going on. Let us tell you that the liquor ban law is in force in Bihar since April 2016. Under this, there is a complete ban on the manufacture, sale or consumption of liquor. However, the illegal trade of liquor is not stopping in Bihar where liquor is prohibited.
