Prime Minister Narendra Modi was sworn in as the 14th Chief Minister of Gujarat on October 7, 2001. It’s been 23 years today. In such a situation, ‘Development Week’ will be celebrated in the entire state between 7th to 15th October to convey to the people the development work done in Gujarat in these 23 years. The decision regarding this was taken in the state cabinet meeting held on Sunday under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. ‘Development Week’ will be celebrated every year.

State government spokesperson and Health Minister Hrishikesh Patel gave information about the programs organized with various themes during this ‘Development Week’. He said that the state government under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel is committed to the long-term and sustainable development of Gujarat by involving all Gujaratis in the celebration of ‘Development Week’ to be organized from 7 to 15 October.

Spokesperson Minister said that this year during the ‘Development Week’, various types of programs will be organized across the state, in which cultural programs will be organized with the presentation of local artists of the respective place. Additionally, with the hashtag ‘Development Week’ citizens will share their experiences on social and digital media regarding the initiatives of the Narendra Modi government and their impact on social life. Besides, people will be introduced to the important contribution of Narendra Modi in the development of the state through Vikas Padyatra at 23 iconic places.

In this context, the Health Minister said that Vikas Padyatra will be organized at other places including Statue of Unity, Sabarmati Riverfront, Surat Diamond Bourse, Nadabet, Pavagadh, Shyamji Krishna Verma Memorial, Smriti Van, Ambaji, Dwarka Sudarshan Bridge and Tribal Martyr Memorial of Pal Dadhav. Will be organised. He further said that under multidimensional events to connect students and youth power in ‘Development Week’, essay competitions based on the theme of development will also be organized in schools and colleges. Not only this, Bharat Vikas Pledge will also be given for people’s participation in development.

A glimpse of the 23 years of development journey of various sectors will be presented through wall painting on the walls of famous public places of the state. Additionally, important development sites in the state will be decorated and illuminated. Apart from this, during the ‘Development Week’ this year, various development works worth more than Rs 3500 crore will also be inaugurated and foundation stones laid across the state.

Spokesperson Minister said that as the Chief Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, instead of running the government in a traditional manner, has taken care of Gujarat with the vision of solving the problems of life with public welfare good governance and all-round development of all three sectors including industry, agriculture and services as a policy driven state. Has created a role model of development.
