34% of Indore’s youth have abnormal BP, 8.72% have cholesterol problems, the statistics are surprising

A study conducted on the health of more than 50 thousand youth aged between 18 and 30 years in Indore, Madhya Pradesh has revealed disturbing information. In the findings of the study, the blood pressure of 34 percent of the participating youth was found to be abnormal. The eating habits of about 90 percent of the youth included in the study were found to be disturbed. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav released the report of this study conducted under the ‘Health of Indore 2024’ campaign on Saturday.

This campaign has been started by Indore’s Lok Sabha MP Shankar Lalwani. In the related program, Chief Minister Mohan expressed concern over the irregular routine of the youth. The CM said that people can stay healthy by adopting an Indian lifestyle based on Ayurveda and yoga. As part of the study conducted under the ‘Health of Indore 2024’ campaign, the health of 50,121 youths of Indore was examined within two days.

According to the report of the study, 34% of the participating youths from Indore were found to have abnormal blood pressure. Not only this, 8.72% youths had abnormal cholesterol, 3.43% youths had abnormal blood sugar, 1.98% youths had abnormal creatinine, 9.93% youths had serum glutamic pyruvic transaminase (SGPT) and 5.6% youths had abnormal protein levels.

About 48 percent of the youth included in the study were found to have abnormal sleeping patterns. Lok Sabha member Lalwani said that the data of this study warns that a healthy lifestyle is very important to avoid diseases. The youth need to pay utmost attention to their health.
