Gujarat Mausam: The weather has once again taken a turn in Gujarat. During the last 24 hours, heavy rain has been seen in different parts of South Gujarat region. Rain has also been seen at different places in North Gujarat region and Saurashtra. A major accident occurred in Amreli district of Gujarat on Saturday evening. Five people including three children died due to lightning. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rain and thundershowers in various parts of Gujarat during the next 24 hours.
According to the Meteorological Department, the weather will remain bad for three days in various districts of Gujarat. During the next 24 hours, the Meteorological Department has warned of isolated thunderstorms in Narmada, Surat, Tapi, Navsari, Dangs, Valsad, Daman, Dadar Nagar Haveli in South Gujarat region of Gujarat and in Rajkot, Porbandar, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar and Dwarka districts of Saurashtra. There is a possibility of heavy rain at places. Yellow alert has been issued regarding this.

Yellow alert has been issued for light to moderate rain with strong winds in isolated parts of Porbandar, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Morbi, Dwarka, Gir Somnath, Botad and Diu districts.

Meanwhile, an official of Damnagar police station said that five people, including three children, died due to lightning in Gujarat’s Amreli district on Saturday evening. The incident occurred at around 6 pm in Ambardi village when the agricultural laborers were returning home with their children. The area received heavy rain and thunderstorms during the day. The deceased have been identified as Bhartiben Santhalia (35), Shilpa Santhalia (18), Rupali Vanodiya (8), Riddhi (5) and Radhe (5).
