50 lakh rupees in cash has been recovered from the driver of Jind BJP candidate and outgoing MLA Krishna Middha and one of his close associates. Both were in a car and were bringing cash from Noida. Among them, BJP candidate Krishna Middha’s driver is Happy and the other is his close associate Kalu Ahuja. During a blockade in Sonipat, the police recovered 50 lakh rupees in cash from their car. Both the youths are residents of Jind. After the imposition of the code of conduct, there is a ban on carrying an amount of more than 50 thousand rupees without proof. In such a situation, the recovery of such a huge amount of cash has raised suspicion that this money was to be used in the elections. So far, no statement has come from BJP candidate Krishna Middha in this matter.
According to the information, the static surveillance team of the police SST had set up a check post on Gohana Road Bypass. During this, a car with Jind number was stopped for checking. The youth riding in it started avoiding the police in the name of search. On suspicion, the duty magistrate was called on the spot and when the car was searched, the police were shocked. The bag was recovered from the car.
When Duty Magistrate Dilbag Singh and ASI Bijendra of City Police Station searched the bag, they found 20 bundles of notes. When the bundles of notes were counted, 500 notes of 500 rupees each were tied together, which amounted to 50 lakh rupees.
During interrogation, both the youths told that they had brought this cash from Noida in Uttar Pradesh. The youth said that he had to get the plot registered. But he could not present any proof of this. After this, the police team seized the entire amount. SST has seized the cash and deposited it in the treasury. The Income Tax Department has also been informed about the matter. It is suspected that this amount was to be used in the elections. Further investigation in the matter will be done by the Income Tax Department.
