69000 Teachers Recruitment: The petition filed in the Supreme Court in the 69000 teacher recruitment case was heard on Monday. After the hearing, the Supreme Court has stayed the order of the High Court. The Chief Justice said that the order of the High Court will remain suspended. The Chief Justice also said that a written note should be filed in this matter. The next hearing will be held on this. The date for the next hearing in this case has been fixed as 25 September.
The Supreme Court has asked the UP government and both the parties to submit written arguments in this matter. Time is needed to study the decision of the High Court. It is noteworthy that the Allahabad High Court in its decision had cancelled the selection lists of June 2020 and January 2022 and ordered the state government to release a new selection list for 69000 teachers on the basis of the assistant teacher recruitment examination held in 2019 within three months.
The Supreme Court said that the court will give its order only after examining the legal aspects of the teacher recruitment case. The High Court had cancelled the merit list on the basis of non-compliance of reservation rules. But this may affect about 19 thousand teachers who have been working for the last four years. The Supreme Court asked both the parties to present their written arguments before the court in a maximum of seven pages. The court has also appointed two nodal lawyers for this. The Supreme Court has also asked the UP government to file a reply.
