The death toll in the fierce collision between a truck and a Toofan taxi (jeep) near Kantal in Pindwara police station area of Sirohi district of Rajasthan on Sunday night has risen to 9. By Monday morning, 9 people have died in this accident, including 1 child, 3 women and 5 men. While more than 15 people have been seriously injured. Two seriously injured have been referred to Udaipur hospital. One deceased has been identified as a resident of Shivganj and one deceased has been identified as a resident of Sumerpur. While, all the others were residents of Ogna police station area of Udaipur district.
After getting the information, MLA Samaaram Garasiya, District Collector Alpa Chaudhary and SP Anil Kumar Beniwal reached the spot. MLA Samaaram Garasiya expressed grief over the accident and directed for proper treatment of the injured. SP Anil Kumar Beniwal said that all the people travelling in the taxi were from the tribal area of Udaipur. All of them were going to Pali for work, when the accident happened. 9 people have died.

CO Pindwara Bhanwarlal Chaudhary said that police station in-charge Hamir Singh Bhati and other police officers reached the spot on information. After the incident, the Toofan taxi was shattered and the people riding in it got stuck in the vehicle. During this, with the help of local people, all the trapped people were taken out after a lot of hard work and they were sent to the government hospital for treatment, where when the condition of the people became critical, they were referred to the district hospital. All the injured are undergoing treatment. CO Pindwara Bhanwarlal Chaudhary said that the injured have been admitted to the hospital. Additional Superintendent of Police Prabhudayal Dhaniya and Pindwara police station in-charge Hamir Singh have reached the spot with their team. The team has admitted the injured to the government hospital of Pindwara.
