4 women died in collision between van and truck.
Surendranagar: A case of a tragic accident has come to light in Surendranagar district of Gujarat. Here there was a fierce collision between a pickup van and a truck. Four women died in this accident, while 16 other people were injured. After the accident, the injured were immediately rushed to the hospital, where they are being treated. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem. It is being told that the victims were going to Somnath for some religious ritual when this accident happened.

Police Inspector of the local police station I.B. Walvi said that this incident is said to have happened around 10.30 pm on Monday night. This accident happened here near Chotila. He said that there were 20 passengers in the van at the time of the accident. Meanwhile, the van collided with a truck and after the collision, two people died on the spot, while two other passengers died in the hospital. He told that there was a head-on collision between a van and a truck, due to which four women died.
People traveling in van were going to Somnath
The official said that the van was going to Somnath from Shiyani village of Limbdi taluka of Surendranagar. The truck was coming from the opposite direction. At the time of the incident, the truck was turning right to stop near a hotel on the roadside. Meanwhile, a van came from the front and collided with the truck, due to which the accident occurred. It is being told that the victims were going to Somnath in the vehicle to perform ‘Pitra Tarpan’, a religious ritual for their ancestors. The 16 passengers injured in the accident were immediately admitted to Rajkot Civil Hospital, where they are being treated. Apart from this, the deceased have been identified as Magjiben Retharia (72), Galalben Retharia (60), Manjuben Retharia (65) and Gauriben Retharia (68). (input- agency)
