Huge explosion due to gas leak
Surat: A shocking case has come to light from Surat, Gujarat. Here, due to gas leak, a massive explosion occurred in a house, in which 5 people of the same family got burnt. The explosion was so powerful that a person was sitting in the washroom on the fourth floor, but due to the explosion, the wall broke and he fell on the third floor.
What is the whole matter?
Five people of the same family and a person living on the upper floor got burnt in a fire in Surat this morning. The explosion was so powerful that the washroom and the slab of the house also broke. Due to this, the person sitting in the washroom on the upper floor fell down. As soon as information about the incident was received, the fire department team reached the spot and controlled the fire. All the injured were taken to Surat government hospital and later to a private hospital for treatment.
Actually, this accident happened due to leakage of gas from a domestic gas cylinder in Surat. Around 6 am in the morning, there was a big explosion in Radhakrishna Society of Pune area of Surat. The house also caught fire due to the explosion. The explosion was so powerful that the back wall of the house, the slab and the door were broken. Due to breaking of the slab, a person who went to washroom on the upper floor in the morning came down and fell down. During this time the fire department was immediately informed. The fire brigade controlled the fire and sent all the injured to the government hospital. Later, on the demand of the family, all the injured were taken to a private hospital.
Surat’s Puna Fire Station Incharge Bhupendra Singh Raj said that the fire broke out due to leakage of the gas bottle kept in the house. In the morning there was gas leakage inside the house on the third floor of Harikrishna Society. This accident happened when a member of the house switched on the light. This accident might have happened due to flash fire. The gas bottle does not burst in a flash fire, but due to gas leakage from the pipe of the bottle, it spread throughout the house. Someone might have switched on a light or lit a matchstick in the house, due to which a spark might have occurred. That is why the explosion occurred. All the members of the house (3 children and parents) and the person sitting in the washroom on the fourth floor have been injured. (Input: Shailesh Champaneria)
