A heart-wrenching incident has come to light in Surat, Gujarat. A 15-year-old teenager hit a bike while driving a car at high speed. In which the bike rider died while the person sitting behind him is fighting for his life. The incident took place on Pal-Umra bridge in Surat on Wednesday morning. A 15-year-old boy driving a sedan hit a motorcycle. Police said that four friends of Rander were riding in the car and all of them are 14-15 years old.
The four friends were travelling from Pal to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Institute of Technology (SVNIT) on Wednesday night in a car that the teenager had driven without informing his family. Police said that around 12.30 am, the teenager lost control of the car. The car jumped over the divider and collided with a motorcycle. Police said that Chintan Malviya, who was driving the bike, died on the spot, while his friend Parth Mehta, who was sitting behind, is battling for life in the ICU of a private hospital.
According to a TOI report, the police said that after hitting the bike, the car overturned and dragged for some distance. They said that another vehicle was also damaged in the incident. The deceased’s brother Dr. Himanshu said that 44-year-old Malviya was a sales manager in a private company and lived with his wife, children and parents in the posh Enclave Society of Adajan. The minor driver’s father works in a private import-export company in Visakhapatnam, while his elder brother works in Delhi. The boy lives with his mother in Rander, police said.
On the complaint lodged by Dr. Himanshu, Pal police have registered a case against the boy for ‘culpable homicide’ and ‘endangering life by rash and negligent driving’. Police said that after the accident, two boys fled from the spot, while two others were injured in the incident and were taken to the hospital. Investigation revealed that the car belonged to the minor’s elder brother, who lives in Delhi. On getting information about the incident, he has reached Surat.
