A 24-year-old student of the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-A) allegedly committed suicide in his hostel room on Thursday evening. Giving information about this, the police said that the deceased Akshit Hemant Bhukya was a resident of Warangal district of Telangana and was a student of the second year of Post Graduate Program course.
Inspector V.D., in-charge of Vastrapur police station. Mori said that some students saw Bhukya hanging from the iron grill of the ventilator in his room, after which the police was informed.
The police officer said, ‘The incident took place in the hostel located in the new campus of IIM-A. We have not found any suicide note. We have sent his mobile phone and laptop for forensic analysis to find out the reasons behind this tragic incident.
On the other hand, DCP Shivam Verma of Zone 7 of Ahmedabad city said that the student committed suicide in his room between 10 am to 3 pm. He said, ‘We have not found any suicide note and the concrete reason behind his action is not yet known.’
