The issue of taking out a procession of a girl from the Patidar community of Amreli, Gujarat is now slowly gaining political momentum. Veteran Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Gopal Italy today started beating himself on the stage while making serious allegations against the state government and police administration. AAP leaders were opposing the procession of girls from Patidar community in Surat today. During this time, while giving a speech on the stage in front of a crowded gathering, he suddenly starts beating himself with a belt. The video of this entire incident is going viral on social media.
The AAP leader has made serious allegations against the Gujarat government and the police administration and said that he wants to awaken the sleeping souls of the people of Gujarat. He said, an innocent daughter of Gujarat was taken out in a procession and beaten. We appealed everywhere, but we could not get justice. For this I punish myself.
What is the whole matter?
Gopal Italia had reached Surat to hold a public meeting on Monday. During this, the issue of the victims of Gujarat was raised. Gopal Italia mentioned several incidents that took place in Gujarat. He talked about Botad Latha incident, Morbi bridge incident, Harani incident, Taxila fire incident, Rajkot Gamezone incident, rape cases in Dahod-Jasdan. He said that despite all efforts the victims have not yet got justice.
Italia said, I have decided that now I will work to awaken the spirit of the people of Gujarat. I was not able to get justice for the girl, hence I should be given the flogging that the police gave to the girl. He further said, I whip myself to awaken the spirit of the people of Gujarat. The souls of the people of Gujarat should wake up that how can the police beat a girl with a belt? I should be punished for not being able to get justice for a girl.

The girl told me that BJP people say that if you demand any action against the police, then once the SP will be suspended but if he comes back to the job then you may have to face problems. The girl is being threatened. Italia said, as long as the girl’s brother is alive, she will not be allowed to face any trouble. Now whether it is SP or minister, we are not afraid of anyone. One of your daughters has been beaten with a belt, in many incidents you do not provide justice and oppress innocent people. We appealed to the government for justice but we did not get justice. We could not provide justice to the people, so I apologize to you.
