“After completion of the contract work, the complainant i.e. the contractor asked Rathod to release the deposited amount. The RFO demanded a bribe of Rs 10 lakh from the complainant, which included a part of the commission for the work done under the annual contract,” the release said. Was involved.” The anti-corruption agency said that despite being paid Rs 90,000, the forest officer kept pressuring him to pay the bribe amount, following which the contractor contacted the ACB as he did not want to pay him the amount.
Acting on the complaint, the ACB laid a trap and caught Rathod and Vismay Rajguru, a computer operator working on contract in his office, red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 2 lakh on Saturday, the release said.
Municipal corporation officials were caught
Earlier in the month of August, ACB in Gujarat had arrested two bribe-taking officers of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation i.e. AMC red handed. Based on the complaint, ACP conducted a raid and recovered lakhs of rupees from the house of one of these two officers. ACB had arrested Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s Assistant Town Planner Harshad Bhojak and Engineer Ashish Patel red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 20 lakh. (Language)
